A blast from the past

Galata Tower is also known as the Tower of Christ. The building is a result of renovation after experiencing earthquake somewhere in 1509. The tower was used to keep prisoners during the era of Suleiman; The Magnificent. After some time, the tower was used for several purposes such as dorm and observation deck. The building itself has lost the surrounding walls but the tower remain stands still.

Today, the Galata Tower is one of Istanbul historical site for tourist attraction. With the height of more than 65 meters, Galata’s top has a breathtaking view of this exotic place.
