What’s inside Beylerbeyi Palace?

You can say that this is heaven on earth! Surrounds with Bosphorus bridge and nice district since Byzantium, the palace is a wooden mansion in prime square. It was during the power of Sultan Abdülaziz (1861-1865) that this palace was built.

The breathtaking building holds 26 rooms all of which divided into two parts: rooms for men and women (Hareem and Selamlik). What’s best about Beylerbeyi Palace is that all of the properties including the rugs and curtains are in their original condition. What a well preserved thing!

A blend of Europe and Mediterranean

The highlights

  • The gardens are very fresh and tranquil. There is an impressive hall with a fountain at the central. Epic scenery of Asiatic side can be seen in the back part of this mansion. You might also notice large marble pool and terrace for sultan’s entertainment. Staircases are just like the tales you see in movies. They are built in spiral shape and they are eye-catching!

 

  • The carpets are very large in size. You will need to wear plastic to cover your sandals. They take a very good care in preserving the properties.

 

  • Don’t forget to take notice on every detail, from the ceiling, the knobs, and the doors. They are very impressive!

 

  • Notice the women section is not heavily decorated as the ones inside Sultan’s place.

No photos allowed

Almost every grandeur places in Turkey don’t allow the visitors to take pictures. Perhaps it is a great rule that encourage people to see for themselves and witness the beauty of this kingdom with their own eyes.

Important information:
